Air Fryer Sweet Potatoes cooked to perfection. Bursting with flavor, crispy skin and all you’ll need to add is a sprinkle of salt!
Our Air Fryer is one of our most used kitchen gadgets, from morning toast to the perfect air fryer baked potato. We use a Cuisinart Air Fryer so we can use it for more than just air frying and we use it daily. One of our favorite things to make in the air fryer is potatoes.
It cooks potatoes to perfection, whether it’s french fries, roasted potatoes, or baked potatoes, it really does an excellent job that you’ll never want to use your oven for potatoes again.
HOW MANY AIR FRYER SWEET POTATOES CAN I MAKE?
This is going to depend on the size of your air fryer, more specifically the size of the air fryer basket. If you’re using medium-size sweet potatoes you’ll most likely get at least three to fit. We can fit four sweet potatoes in our Cuisinart basket.
WHY AREN’T MY POTATOES FULLY COOKED?
The cook time will vary depending on the size of your potatoes. If you’re using a large sweet potato you’ll need to adjust the cooking time. If we have really large ones we’ll cut them down so they can cook in a reasonable amount of time without overcooking the outside.
CAN I MAKE THIS RECIPE OIL FREE?
Absolutely! You can use a little bit of aquafaba (liquid from canned chickpeas) or even some water to get the kosher salt or other optional seasonings to stick. Alternatively, you could just season after and skip seasoning before air frying. If you’re not eating the skin you can skip seasonings altogether. The skin comes off easily as well!
SWEET POTATO TOPPINGS
Most of the time we’ll just enjoy with a tiny sprinkle of kosher salt, but the options are endless. A few of our favorites are:
- Mexican Black Beans with Guacamole
- Maple Syrup With Marshmallows and Cinnamon
- Crumbled Falafel with Tahini Sauce
- Blueberries with Coconut Yogurt and Maple Syrup (perfect for breakfast!)
RECIPE NOTES:
- We highly recommend using avocado oil as this is a high smoke point oil and won’t cause a ton of smoke in your air fryer.
- Make sure you’re using uniform-sized potatoes, if you’re using 1 large and two smaller potatoes the larger potato will be raw and the small could be overcooked.
- You may need to adjust the time depending on the size of the potatoes. Ours were perfectly cooked at 35 minutes and this is the time-frame we always use for a medium-sized sweet potato.
- This is a great way to meal prep potatoes. We store them in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
- Nutrition below is estimated and the kosher salt will remain in the bowl and come off the potatoes during cooking. The nutrition calculator counts all of the salt regardless of how it’s prepared or cooked.
