Tahini sauce is a flavorful, rich and nutty condiment derived from tahini, a paste made from ground sesame seeds. It’s then further flavored with lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, and salt to taste.

This sauce is commonly used in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisines. We love drizzling it over Falafel, Beef Kofta, vegetables, and salads. It’s also makes a delicious dip!

    Tahini Sauce Ingredients

    • Tahini: You can make it homemade or buy it from the store. It’s a richy and nutty paste or nut butter consistency that is made from ground sesame seeds.
    • Lemon Juice: Freshly squeezed for the best flavor.
    • Cold Water: This helps thin the sauce to your desired consistency, adjust as needed.
    • Extra Virgin Olive Oil: Adds a smooth texture and rich flavor.
    • Garlic: Use fresh cloves of garlic, not jarred.
    • Salt: Using salt to taste brings out the flavor.
