How to Make Cabbage Steaks
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Remove the outer leaves from the cabbage, and trim the stem until it is flat on the bottom.
Place the cabbage on the flat stem and slice evenly into one-inch slices, yielding about six pieces.

In a small bowl, mix the crushed garlic and olive oil. Brush or spoon the mixture on both sides of each cabbage slice.

Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
Flip the slices over and continue baking for another 15 to 20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

Remove from the oven and serve hot.

Recipe tips and notes:
For a hint of sweetness, drizzle a little balsamic vinegar over the cabbage before roasting.
Add a sprinkle of smoked paprika or cumin for an extra layer of flavor.
Store leftover cabbage steaks in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes to maintain crispiness.
For a vegan twist, top with nutritional yeast before baking for a cheesy flavor.
