    It’s sweet but not too sweet, it’s a very mellow but still delicious melon. Sugar kiss is much sweeter. It’s also creamy and melts in your mouth.

    Summer Kiss melons are native to Israel, a mixture of cantaloupe and honeydew!

    Summer Kiss melons are a healthy source of calcium, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and hydration thanks to their water content. We love serving up chilled melon on a hot summer day.

    When is Summer Kiss Melon in season?

    Summer Kiss melons are in season from the beginning of summer into the fall, around June 10th to October 31st.

    How to eat Summer Kiss Melon

    How to cut Summer Kiss melon: Wash the Summer Kiss melon. You can either remove the rind or leave it on.

    Once the rind is removed, you can slice it in half, remove the seeds, and cut it into desired slices or chunks.

    You could also slice it in half and enjoy it after removing the seeds or cut it into slices with the rind attached and enjoy it like that. (Don’t eat the rind)

    After cutting, you should refrigerate any leftovers and enjoy within three days.

    How long does it take to grow Summer Kiss Melons?

    All melons love sunny and warm weather. You’ll start from seed and then wait about 80 to 100 days from seeding to harvest for a melon.

    How to store Summer Kiss Melon

    You can store a Summer Kiss Melon on the counter for around five days, but once cut it should be refrigerated and enjoyed within three days.

    How to pick Summer Kiss melons

    You will know when a Summer Kiss melon is ready when it has a creamy color on the outside, is slightly golden yellow, and it should also be heavy for its size.

    Can you freeze Summer Kiss melons?

    Yes, you can freeze melons! We suggest freezing it as we make our frozen strawberries.

    How to freeze melon

    1. Wash the melon and pat it dry.
    2. Cut the melon into bite-size pieces. See how to cut a cantaloupe
    3. Place the melon chunks onto a lined baking sheet with a little bit of space in between them so they don’t stick together. When freezing, we suggest using parchment paper or a nonstick baking mat on a cookie sheet. If not, the fruit will stick to the cookie sheet.  
    4. Once the melon is fully frozen, place it into freezer containers or freeze bags and enjoy it as often as you’d like!

    Summer Kiss Melons are good on their own. However, you can enjoy them in recipes like sorbet, smoothies, ice creams, salsa, or even a delicious melon fruit salad.

    Ingredients

    • 1 Summer Kiss melon
    • produce wash
    • water

    Instructions

    • Wash the Summer Kiss melon with produce wash and water.
    • Use a sturdy cutting board and a sharp knife and carefully slice the top and bottom of the melon off to create a sturdy base. Stand the melon on the cutting board and then cut the sides of the rind off the melon. Keep slicing the rind off until there's none left.
    • Once all of the rind is removed, you can slice the melon in half and remove the seeds.
    • Slice into wedges or chunks and enjoy as desired. Place any leftovers in the refrigerator.
