Are you hunting for green juice recipes for your family, especially your little one? This is a great juice recipe using the best juicer for greens!
Fruits and vegetables in juice are a great combination when you want to give your family a bit more vitamins. Smoothies are great too, but when you mix in kale it’s a little more difficult for a 3 year old to chug down.
This Kale and Kiwi Refresher is one of our favorite green juice recipes. You can easily make it in the blender and add a little bit of water and then strain. We prefer to use a masticating juicer to ensure we get the most out of our produce.
Masticating juicers also ensure that your juice will hold nutrition longer, typically up to 72 hours, if you don’t drink it all in that time. We like to make big batches 2 times a week and this way we can enjoy throughout the week.
Not to worry if you can’t finish up those big batches of juice. Put them in ice cubes trays to pop in a smoothie for later, freeze them to defrost and drink at a later time or even use it for ice pops like Courtney’s Sweets did for these fun Fruits and Veggies Carrot Ice Pops.

When it comes to green juice the greens can be a bit overwhelming for a child so we like to add things like apples and kiwi. Kiwi gives it a little bit of a sour note and then the apples give it the sweetness. It’s a perfect combination with the earthy tasting greens. We like to take it in a little shot glass cup each morning. It’s a great way to start your day!
If you’re looking for a juicer we highly recommend the one we have, the Tribest Solostar 4 Juicer Horizontal Slow Masticating Cold Press Juicer. It’s a horizontal slow masticating cold press juicer which means that you can store the juice longer since it’s using low RPMS, more info here. We do not recommend centrifugal juicers as you don’t get as much juice with a masticating and you lose nutrients as well.

I think this is the brilliant idea, especially for children. making fruit and vegetable fun and appealing through ice lollies is very clever. I found making smoothies is a brilliant way as well to get fruit to be more appealing. I have been using a citrus juicer to make my smoothies with, makes it a better smoother taste. I would highly recommend using one especially if you’re making a smoothie for children, as they can be picky about the texture of a smoothie. I am definitely going to try these Ice lollies, great work !
