HOW TO MAKE CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES

    Products used:

    • Strawberries
    • Enjoy Life Chocolate Chunks
    • Nonstick Baking Mat
    • Baking Sheet
    • Reusable Silicone Piping Bags
    • Wilton Writing Tip #3

Wash your strawberries and then lay them on a cookie sheet with a towel to dry. You can individually dry them, but allow them to air dry for another 30 minutes to ensure they’re completely dry so the chocolate will stick. Water will cause the chocolate to seize up and become pasty.

While the strawberries are drying in the last 10 minutes you can start melting the chocolate.

Take a small saucepan and add a little bit of water, place a glass or stainless steel bowl over the pot and make sure the water isn’t touching the bowl, if so remove some of the water.

Place the saucepan on the stove and bring the water to a medium boil on medium heat. Add the chocolate to the bowl. Once the water is lightly boiling you can reduce to simmer or even turn off if you’re using an electric or induction top.

Stir the chocolate with a rubber spatula to ensure it’s melting evenly, once the chocolate is melted you can pour the chocolate into a smaller container for easier dipping.

To dip the strawberries pick the strawberry up and pull the leaves back in your fingers and then dip the strawberry into the chocolate.

Once all the strawberries are dipped place the baking sheet into the refrigerator for 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.

HOW TO DECORATE CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES

The strawberries can be served with a plain dip or any toppings you prefer.

You can add sprinkles or your favorite toppings right after putting the strawberries on the baking sheet while the chocolate is still melty.

If you would like to decorate after the chocolate is hardened you can drizzle with melted chocolate in a piping bag and then serve like that or even add toppings then.

WHAT’S THE BEST CHOCOLATE TO USE FOR CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES?

Our preferred chocolate is Enjoy Life Chocolate. We’ve been enjoying this brand for almost 7 years now and it’s free of the top allergens in addition to being vegan.

HOW TO STORE CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES

When storing the chocolate covered strawberries you want to keep them in the refrigerator in an airtight container, you can use parchment paper to prevent them from sticking to the container if needed. We recommend enjoying within 2-3 days.

RECIPE TIPS AND TRICKS FOR VEGAN CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES:

    • Make sure your bowl is dry before melting the chocolate, water will cause the chocolate to seize up and get pasty.
    • Let the strawberries completely dry as well, if you dip them wet the chocolate will seize and not stick to the strawberries
    • You could also dip other fruit like apples or pineapple.
    • If you want to enjoy the chocolates with melted chocolate you can just serve and dip into the melted chocolate.
