Frozen Grapes make for the perfect frozen treat! Freezing grapes is easy and you’ll love this healthy fruit snack!

I grew up eating frozen grapes right out of leftover takeout containers. My dad would actually freeze them whenever we bought them, we rarely had grapes that weren’t frozen.
Frozen grapes are a delicious snack that’s refreshing, cold, and hydrating. It’s like having a frozen dessert, but it’s just fruit so it’s a natural low calorie snack. They’re one of our favorite post workout snacks for before the gym.
If you’re new here, we love freezing fruit! We’ve also shared tips on how to freeze peaches and how to freeze strawberries.

Why don’t frozen grapes stick together?
Freezing grapes is a little different because of their unique skin. The skin of a grape acts like a natural barrier. Softer fruits like berries and peaches release juices as they freeze and tend to stick together, grapes stay intact because the grape skin protects the moisture inside.
The grape skin acts as a natural seal that prevents grapes from clumping together during freezing. This makes them easy to handle to enjoy and eat straight out of the freezer.
What grapes are best for frozen grapes?
We love freezing all grapes, but we do love frozen cotton candy grapes the most! We always stock up when they’re on sale and freeze them in our deep freezer.
- Grapes: You can use any type, such as red, green, or cotton candy grapes. Make sure they are fresh and ripe for the best results.
- Veggie Spray: We use a little Dr Bronner’s to make a veggie wash.
- Water: For rinsing the grapes and removing any residue after cleaning.

How to freeze grapes
Remove the grapes from their stems and place them in a colander with a bowl underneath to catch the water.

Spray the grapes with veggie spray, add some water, and use your hands to gently mix and clean the grapes.

Drain the water and rinse the grapes one or two more times, depending on how dirty they are.

After rinsing, transfer the grapes into a freezer-safe container. Stasher bags or any similar containers are ideal as they allow you to remove excess water before freezing.

Place the grapes in the freezer for 6-8 hours, or leave them overnight for best results.
