Wondering What fruits and vegetables are in season? This is your seasonal produce guide so that you can eat seasonal produce every month of the year.

Text on image reading what's in season monthly guide on knowyourproduce.com fresh vegetables overhead photo of eggplant, tomatoes, bell peppers, broccoli, herbs, cauliflower, and corn.

We’ve put this seasonal produce guide together to know what fruits are in season and what vegetables are in season.

Why should you purchase produce that’s in season? Seasonal produce is fresher, more nutritious, has better pricing, and most importantly, is readily available. If you have a farmers market close to you, we suggest shopping locally whenever possible.

If you like to eat a variety of foods and try new things, this is an excellent way to expand your diet and buy produce during its peak season.

fresh organic summer berries mix in wooden tray and exotic fruits on wooden background. Raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and cherries.

Bottom line: While most items you can purchase year-round, all produce has a peak season when you can find it at its peak freshness from local farms. Those strawberries you’re eating in January are imported to get to your plate. Many grocery stores carry local produce as well.

Keep in mind: Produce is typically available during seasons like Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer. Since they’re seasonally available, you’ll see them listed more than once for what fruits and vegetables are in season each month. Of course, where you live will also change what is in season.
