    Learn All About Mango!

Mangos are extremely healthy. Just one cup of mangos equals 100 calories. Mangos are high in potassium, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin B-6 and it even has a little bit of protein! Mangos are versatile and can be used in recipes from sweet to savory. We love the creaminess mangos gives to recipes like ice cream, ice pops and smoothies.

FUN FACT: Mangos are actually related to cashews and pistachios!

WHEN IS MANGO SEASON Mangos thrive in tropical climates so we’re able to purchase them year round. When it comes to local and US you will only find local in Florida, California, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Florida you will find them available from May through October, peak season is summer.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GROW MANGO We recommend purchasing a tree, where you’ll only wait 3-4 years for harvest. If you start from seed you may wait anywhere from 5-8 years.

HOW TO STORE MANGO  Mangos should be stored at room temperature until ripe and then refrigerated once ripened.

HOW TO CHOOSE MANGO A ripe mango will give slightly when you squeeze gently. Just like a peach you want one that is soft and no blemishes. Color is not an indicator of a ripe mango.

CAN YOU FREEZE MANGO Yes! Mango is one of our favorite fruits to freeze. Remove the skin and cut into desired chunks and follow the instructions for our how to freeze strawberries. Once frozen store for up to 10-12 months.

HOW TO USE MANGO Mango is extremely versatile and can be used raw, frozen and even cooked.
