Ingredients

  • 8 medjool dates
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  • Remove the seeds from the dates.
  • Soak the dates in 1 cup of hot water to soften for 25-30 minutes.
  • Once the dates become soft, place the dates and the water into a high-speed blender and blend for 3-5 minutes.
  • The date syrup will be HOT, allow to cool and place into your desired container.

Notes

  • when not using a high-speed blender you may get some pieces of skin or bits and pieces here in the syrup. don't worry, it's still edible
  • save leftovers in the fridge for 3 days or up to a week if you add a preservative like lemon
  • thicken this recipe by cooking on the stove on high heat until boiling, then reduce the heat and cook on low until desired thickness
  • add in flavors - cinnamon and vanilla are our favorite additions
If you're not using a high-speed blender you may get some pieces of skin or bits and pieces here and there, don't worry it's fine to eat.
