    Beef Kofta Kebabs Recipe

Get grilling with our Beef Kofta Recipe! Loaded with fresh parsley, onion, garlic, and cumin. This Mediterranean ground beef kabob recipe is a hit every time!

I grew up calling this Beef Kofta Recipe Israeli Kebab. My aunt made it very often, and we were always over her house swimming in the pool during the summer, so that meant beef kofta kebabs for everyone! This beef kofta kebab recipe is just as my family has made it for over 40 years now. It’s a family favorite and still a grilling favorite.

How to make a Kofta Kebab

You can shape your Beef Kofta Recipe like ours and leave as is, or you can insert a skewer/kebab stick into them. We have always made them without the stick since we would stuff them right into a pita to eat. Less waste this way, unless you use metal kebab skewers.

How to make a Kofta Kebab

I just love making food that I grew up on – especially for my family! The way we would enjoy this was with a homemade pita, hummus, Mediterranean rice and Israeli Salad. You could our beef kofta with a simple shopska salad.

The smell of this dish cooking is just delightful, and you’ll be anxiously waiting to bite for the entire time it’s cooking. Once they’re done you can dig right in and enjoy as you’d like.

What Goes into a Kofta Kebab Recipe

You can use beef or lamb, or even a combination of both. Most Kofta Kebab recipes have tons of ingredients. However, my family kofta kebab recipe has just a few ingredients. It’s simple and flavorful. The main ingredients are

    • beef
    • garlic
    • parsley
    • cumin
    • seasonings
Most families go by taste or eye when making a recipe, I go by taste and not by a recipe for the most part as well.  When my aunt told me the method she said me what goes into it, but none of the measurements. I had to go by taste, and that means we made this recipe about 3-4 times before I got it right without any complaints, because yum!

Instead of chopping by hand, we use a food processor to get a nice mince on the vegetables and herbs.

    What is Kofta

Kofta is a meatball or meatloaf that is filled with ground meat, spices, onions, and garlic. Kofta is made in a lot of cuisines like Middle Eastern, South Asian, Central Asian, and Balkan.
We like to squeeze a little fresh lemon over them before serving, but this is completely optional.

Thank you for the recipe! It was super delicious. Made mine on a George Foreman grill and shaped them like sausages and they cooked up quickly. Great recipe to satisfy a craving for Mediterranean cuisine.

Thank you for sharing your family recipe! I had some leftover fresh parsley from another meal and found this recipe after an internet search for “beef and parley.”

I pan fired it and served with rice cooked w/ carrots and salad. Dressed the rice with salt and butter.. Delicious.
This recipe is super easy and flavorful- the use of the small food processor made all the difference in achieving a fine chop to meld into the meat.
