We love fresh juice, and when you make it yourself using an old-fashioned recipe, it’s even better. We’re excited to share our grape juice recipe with you. Homemade juicing recipes are much better than buying bottled or a juice box package. My mother swore by grape juice for constipation; I preferred it over prune juice as a child I can tell you that. When you consume juice right after making it it’s full of all the essential vitamins and nutrients. Whenever we’re in the mall we sometimes enjoy a drink from Jamba Juice. However, they do not use organic produce, so we limit our consumption.
We love being able to go to local farms to get produce as soon as it’s ready for picking. We know we’re getting the most nutrients this way!

This grape juice recipe is made using concord grapes; it has a much deeper flavor when using concord grapes as concord grapes are ideal for juicing due to their seeds. You can even use concord grapes to make concord grape jelly.

How to make grape juice

Wash your grapes in a water bath with veggie wash or spray.

Rinse and drain grapes before placing into a large stockpot.

Mash the grapes using a potato masher and place the pot on the stove once the grapes are mashed and juicy. This part is great for the kids to get involved, they’ll love smashing the grapes and seeing the juice come out.

Cook on medium heat until it begins to bubble a little and reduce to low simmer for about 8-10 minutes, still mashing/mixing during the process.

Pour juice mixture into a fine mesh strainer over another large stockpot or bowl.

After fully strained, strain through a cheesecloth or nut milk bag into a large beverage container.

You can allow the mixture to strain overnight in the fridge or put on some gloves and gently squeeze the nut milk bag.

Place in the refrigerator once fully strained and enjoy within a week.
